As we age, the signs of ageing start to appear, including wrinkles, fine lines, and loss of volume. Dermal fillers contain hyaluronic acid, which is used to restore a more youthful and refreshed appearance. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body that helps to hydrate and plump the skin. When injected beneath the skin, dermal fillers can subtly smooth, soften, contour and tone the skin, which helps to restore youthful plumpness and enhance and define features.

What can Dermal Fillers do?

Dermal fillers is a non-surgical solution to many signs of ageing that people experience.

Dermal fillers, also known as soft tissue fillers, have become increasingly popular in recent years for their ability to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and facial contours. However, while dermal fillers can work wonders in creating a more youthful and vital look, there are limitations to what they can achieve.

what dermal fillers can do

+ Plump up areas of the skin
+ Improve the appearance of wrinkles, creases and other signs of ageing
+ Soften the appearance of fine lines around the mouth and eyes
+ Add volume to thin lips
+ Contour cheeks and jawlines, resulting in a more youthful and defined facial structure
+ Help to restore volume and improve the overall texture and tone of the skin, resulting in a more youthful and fresh appearance
+ Create a natural-looking, younger appearance that can last for several months, depending on the type of filler and the individual patient's metabolism

what dermal fillers can't do

- They cannot help with sagging skin caused by significant weight loss or ageing
- Nor can they tighten the skin
- It can not replace lost skin elasticity or firmness
- They can subtly improve these above but not dramatically
- It cannot address issues such as skin pigmentation, texture, or tone, which may require other cosmetic procedures

FAQ's on Dermal Fillers

How Can Dermal Fillers Enhance My Appearance?

_

Dermal fillers are a popular cosmetic treatment used to enhance the appearance of the skin, particularly when it comes to reducing wrinkles and lines. As we age, our skin loses elasticity and volume, which can lead to wrinkles and folds, such as smile lines and creases around the mouth.

Dermal fillers can help restore the volume lost as a result of ageing, plump the skin, and smooth out wrinkles and lines. They work by injecting a gel-like substance under the skin’s surface, adding volume. This gel is made up of compounds like hyaluronic acid, which is found naturally in the body and helps to hydrate and plump the skin. Overall, dermal fillers can have a significant impact on one's appearance by enhancing the natural features of the face and helping people feel more confident in their appearance.

FAQ's on Dermal Fillers

what are dermal fillers made with?

_

They are made with various substances, including hyaluronic acid, collagen, and polylactic acid. Here at Redefined Medispa, Sarah uses Hyaluronic fillers which is a naturally occurring substance found in your skin that helps to plump and hydrate. Collagen is also naturally occurring in your skin but decreases with age, leading to wrinkles.

Results can last for several months to a year, depending on the type of filler used. Filler treatments aim to restore volume and a youthful appearance to the face. By using substances already found in your skin, filler treatments can help minimise the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

FAQ's on Dermal Fillers

WHAT PRECAUTIONS SHOULD I TAKE BEFORE GETTING FILLERS?

_

Before getting fillers, it is essential to take certain precautions. The procedure involves an injectable substance which is injected into the skin to plump up wrinkles, creases, and fine lines. The substance should be FDA-approved, and there should be documentation verifying the batch number and authenticity of the product. It is also essential to disclose any medical conditions or allergies to the practitioner before the injection takes place.

This will help to determine if you are a suitable candidate for the cosmetic procedure. In addition, ideally, supplements, such as aspirin, fish oil or Ginkgo Biloba, at least 24 hours before the procedure, as it can increase the risk of bruising and bleeding.

After the injection, expect some degree of swelling, bruising, and/or redness, but there should be no severe pain. Follow after care instructions, such as avoiding massaging or applying pressure on the injection site for the first 24 hours after the treatment. These precautions will help maximise the effectiveness of the cosmetic procedure and minimise any potential complications.

What Is The Difference Between Botox And Dermal Fillers?

_

Botox and dermal fillers are popular cosmetic procedures used to eliminate signs of ageing, but they work in different ways. Botox is a neurotoxin that is injected into facial muscles to temporarily paralyse them, which reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

This treatment is commonly used for dynamic wrinkles, or wrinkles that form from facial movements such as smiling or frowning. In contrast, dermal fillers are injectable gels made up of hyaluronic acid or other substances that plump up the skin to smooth out wrinkles and restore lost volume.
